Samara Distribution Grids (SDG), a branch of IDGC of Volga, PJSC (subsidiary of Rosseti, PJSC), completed reconstruction of the second 110 kV power line in Samara initiated under the project of expansion of the Moscow Highway. 110 kV Semeykino-1 power line was transformed into a cable version and put under the workload. Today, the electric power is transmitted to the residents of the city through overhead cable lines.
Routed along the Moscow Highway, 110 kV Semeykino-1 power line ran over a section of the road being under repair commenced as a part of preparation of Samara urban district for the 2018 FIFA World Cup. The expansion of the Moscow Highway and construction of tunnel-type junctions and side roads accommodating access ways to near-by areas and a bus lane required reconstruction of power lines followed by their transformation into cable version. Semeykino-1 became a second power line running along the Moscow Highway that was converted into a cable format and put into service.
Due to the valuable cooperation with the Ministry of Transport and Automobile Roads of the Samara region, SDG managed to fulfill the reconstruction works in line with the highest quality standards within a very short time without disturbing its consumers who nevertheless were uninterruptedly supplied with electric power.
After putting the refurbished 110 kV power lines into service, SDG proceeded to dismounting of wires, insulators and existing supports of power transmission lines within the area of scheduled expansion of the Moscow Highway. The dismounting operations are to be completed by the end of March.
All works are performed by contractors of the Ministry of Transport and Automobile Roads under the 2018 FIFA World Cup campaign in the section from Kirova avenue to the gas station No. 115. The admission for work in the security zone of overhead lines and control over the reconstruction of power facilities is carried out by the employees of Samara Distribution Grids.
