October 15^th, 2010. Moscow, Russia. JSC RusHydro (ticker symbols: RTS, MICEX, LSE: HYDR; OTCQX: RSHYY) announces that on October 15^th, 2010 a meeting of the Company's Board of Directors was held in absentia.

Based on a competitive tender process, JSC RusHydro's Board of Directors adopted JSC Registrar R.O.S.T. as the Company's new registrar, due to the fact that they (R.O.S.T.) offered the most favorable terms of cooperation.  The key criteria for selection, apart from price, were significant practical experience in the sphere of registrar services and the existence of developed infrastructure and qualified personnel, as well as sound business reputation.

Prior to the transfer of the registry, every person registered in the registry has the right to receive references from JSC CMD (the previous registrar) on entries to his/her client account with JSC CMD. This information will be provided in chronological order.

The transfer of the registry of the Company's shareholders from JSC CMD to the new registry holder, JSC Registrar R.O.S.T., is planned to be concluded on November 1^st, 2010.

On September 15^th, 2010, JSC RusHydro's Board of Directors resolved to dissolve the agreement on maintaining and keeping the Company's shareholder registry that the Company had previously concluded with JSC CMD, due to the revocation of JSC CMD's license. The Company's Board of Directors also entrusted the Chairman of JSC RusHydro's Management Board with organizing the competitive process for selecting a new registrar, who would maintain and keep the Company's shareholder registry.
