A working meeting between Alexey Miller, Gazprom’s Management Committee Chairman, and Vyacheslav Shtyrov, President of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), was held today at Gazprom’s Headquarters.

A. Miller and V. Shtyrov discussed the preparation of incorporation documents for setting up Gazprom and Yakutia’s joint venture. The parties approved the preparatory work done and decided to coordinate all the relevant documentation until May this year.

In addition, Gazprom and the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) signed an Agreement envisaging for the joint venture to start its operations as a united production and technology facility in 2004 already, with further increase in the charter capital.

On October 18, 2002, Gazprom and the Government of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) signed the Agreement on setting up a joint venture.

The joint venture will specialize in exploring and developing gas and oil fields as well as in storing, transmitting and marketing hydrocarbon feedstock and its processing products in Yakutia.

Under the Agreement, the charter capital of the joint venture will be distributed in the following way: 51% (Gazprom), 49% (Yakutia’s Government).
