IDGC of Volga, PJSC (subsidiary of Rosseti, PJSC) goes forward with its campaign aiming to ensure failure-free power supplies during the flood season. Flood Control Committees formed by the Company and its branches are in charge of cooperation with regional subdivisions of EMERCOM of Russia, regional and municipal authorities in the Saratov, Samara, Ulyanovsk, Orenburg, Penza regions, Republic of Mordovia and Chuvash Republic.
Power sector specialists took a thorough look at how to access potential flooding areas and bring emergency response teams, machinery and inert materials to all substations and power transmission lines. They also checked whether the emergency inventory stock is available and where it is stored.
The Company keeps a close eye on the facilities located in the areas where flooding is very likely to happen in 2017. The flood preparedness activities also include removal and pickup of snow from approach roads and substations, as well as monitoring of readiness of movable backup power sources.
