North-West Telecom JSC has summed up the results of its business activities for the 1st Half of 2007 according to the Russian Accounting Standards. Revenue from sales amounted to RUR11,600,847 thousand, including RUR 10,774,441 thousand from communication services. As compared to the same period of the last year, the revenue from sales increased by 19.7%, including the increase of 20.8% from communication services.  

The main drivers of revenue growth have been the income from new services, income from intra-zonal communication and income from local communication, which, as compared to the same period of the last year, have grown by 76.1%, 59.4% and 14.7% respectively. In absolute terms the revenue from new services in the 1st half of 2007 amounted to RUR 1,301,827 thousand, from intra-zonal communication amounted to RUR 1,067,037 thousand and from local communication – to RUR 6,225,858 thousand.

North-West Telecom JSC costs in the 1st half of 2007 amounted to RUR 8,068,979 thousand, having grown by 16.5% as compared to the same period of the last year. Thus, North-West Telecom has shown once again the outstripping growth of revenue as compared to costs.

Operating income for the 1st half of 2007 grew by 27.7% as compared to the same period of the last year and amount to RUR 3,531,868 thousand.

EBITDA for the 1st half of 2007 amounted to RUR 4,682,170 thousand, having exceeded the index for the 1st half of 2006 by 36.3%. The EBITDA margin reached 40.4%, which was 5 p.p. higher than in the 1st half of 2006.

North-West Telecom JSC net income amounted to RUR 2,075,441 thousand, which is 53.9% more than for the same period of the previous year.
