Moscow, 17 July 2008. INTER RAO UES, one of the leading Russian energy companies, today announced the commencement of ordinary share trading on the Russian Trading System (RTS) and the Moscow Interbank Currency Exchange (MICEX) under ticker symbol “IRAO” and Global Depositary Receipt (GDR) program.

The following shares issues are traded on RTS: 1-02-33498-E of 23.10.2007, 1-02-33498-E-002D of 18.03.2008, 1-02-33498-E-005D of 18.03.2008, 1-02-33498-E-006D of 18.03.2008. The share issue 1-02-33498-Ĺ of 23.10.2007 is traded on MICEX.

The free-float is expected to be up to 38.5% of the chartered capital. The Company together with the Bank of New York Mellon acting as depositary bank issued GDRs under Regulation S and Rule 144A,. Each GDR represents 10 000 ordinary shares of INTER RAO UES.
