Aeroflot modernized complex simulators of Aircraft Personnel Training Center

In order to increase flight safety and the quality of air crew training Aeroflot modernized complex simulators of Aircraft Personnel Training Center (APTC). For the first time in Russia there were carried out works on equipping flight simulators of Tu-154, Il-86 and Il-96 with the Traffic Alert and Collision Avoidance System (TCAS). This is to simulate emergency situations and procedures on efficient operations of the crew.

TCAS is mandatory for equipping of all air liner types making international flights. This device helps to determine distance to the object, its remoteness and proximity, and react to beep signals informing the pilot about danger. Earlier simulators of Russian planes were not quipped with this system, and crews had to train procedures required during theoretical courses in classes and expensive practical trainings with an instructor within a real flight. Aeroflot flight simulator system A320 used by APTC is equipped with TCAS.

From October 1, 2004, pilots of other Russian airline companies will have an opportunity to be trained on modernized simulators.

Information:

Today APTC simulator complex includes:

  • 6 full flight simulators;
  • all kinds of air crew training on complex simulators of planes: Il-96, Il-86, A320, Tu-154Ì;
  • presimulator training in computer classes, training of pilots and navigators on special air simulators Il-96-300, Tu-154M;
  • survival training on “Water” and “Land” simulators of Il-96-300, Il-86, Tu-154.

For air crew and stewards training special computer programs are used, air crew is also trained to communicate by radio in English: “Air-Surface-Air”.
