On January 22, 2004, Moscow Technical College (MTC) received a delegation from the Malaysian Ministry of Education to exchange experience in the area of personnel training for Russian power industry. During the visit, the Malaysian delegation was acompanied by represenatives from the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Education and the Moscow Municipal Department for Education.

The agreement on the visit was achieved last year by the Russian and Malaysian Ministries of Education. The program of the visit included the presentation of teaching techniques in elemntary and intermediate teachnical education in Russia, as well as the acquaintance with the education quality control system for professional training. The program included the visit to AO MOSENERGO's Moscow Technical College that trains specialists and mid-level managers for electricity and heating operators.

During the visit, the head and teachers of the College told Malaysian guests about specific features of the system for training specialists for AO MOSENERGO, as well as compliance with educational standards and power-specific curricula. The delegation was shown a multimedia class, labs and workshops for MTC students. The visit ended with musical and dancing show staged by MTC music, folk and dancing teams

AO MOSENERGO pays special attention to the training of specialists. AO MOSENERGO's Moscow Center for Staff Training has been in operation since 1964. It focuses on advancing the qualification of technical specialists and teaching new professions.

MTC was set up in 1986. In 1992, it became a division of the Moscow power system. Currently, MTC has more than 600 students. Many students are children of AO MOSENERGO's employees who want to continue «professional» dynasties. In addition, around 300 AO mOSENERGO's specialists upgrade their knowledge or take courses at the part-time division of the College. MTC's students can take practice at AO MOSENERGO's divisions. The preparatory courses at MTC are attended by 320 pupils from Moscow schools today.
