Vagit Alekperov, OAO LUKOIL President, and Alexander Filipenko, Governor and Chairman of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous District-Yugra, signed a Supplement Cooperation Agreement between the Company and the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous District in Khanty-Mansisk today.
According to the agreement, LUKOIL will finance the construction and repair of various social facilities, sporting events and charitable projects throughout 11 municipal entities of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous District – Yugra, totaling RUR 1.4 billion in 2010.
One such project is planned for Kogalym, where the LUKOIL funds will be allocated towards the construction of one 16-story and three 3-story residential buildings, a kindergarten for 320 children and capital repair of the health centre.
In Langepas, the Company will help complete the construction of a kindergarten for 280 children, reconstruction of the city health centre and purchase of amusement rides for the children’s park “Hippo.”
In Urai, LUKOIL will fund the construction of a kindergarten to accommodate 240 children and a three-kilometer section of a motorway. In Pokachi, these funds will be spent on the completion of an Arts Centre and a kindergarten for 240 children.
The basic cooperation agreement between the Company and the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous District-Yugra was signed on September 8, 2005. LUKOIL allocated RUR 334 million for the construction and repair of the social facilities located in Yugra and also RUR 10 million towards sports and cultural projects in 2009.
