Moscow, January 11, 2017 – PJSC ALROSA, the world leader in diamond mining, has announced rough and polished diamond sale results for December 2016 and interim results for 2016.

Rough diamond sales by ALROSA Group in December 2016 amounted to USD 173 million. Polished diamond sales for the same period amounted to USD 3.3 million.

Total diamond sales in December 2016 amounted to USD 176.3 million.

“Sales results in December in the small-size segment still reflect weakening of small and middle-size Indian diamond-cutting companies due to the monetary reform underway in this country. Activity in other market segments corresponded to the seasonality of demand and our expectations,” – says Yury Okoemov, ALROSA Vice President.

Preliminary figures indicate that for 12 months of 2016 ALROSA Group sold rough and polished diamonds for USD 4.486 billion, 26% higher compared to the similar period of 2015.
