As part of the implementation of the 2019 repair program in the branch of IDGC of Volga, PJSC (included in the Rosseti Group) - Ulyanovsk Distribution Grids plan to repair 2,417 km of overhead lines with 0.4-10 kV, 998 km of 35-110 kV high-voltage lines , 29 substations with 35-110 kV and 665 transformer step-down substations with 6-10 / 0.4 kV.
Mass repairs will begin in April, and by October 1, all work should be completed. Currently, the branch has organized preparation for the repair work start, including emergency response training, employees knowledge assessment, medical examinations, checking the availability of necessary equipment, materials for repairs, operability of vehicles and special equipment, as well as staffing with all the necessary equipment and tools protection. In addition, demonstration of tolerance will be held at the branch, during which employees annually work out the skills of preparing the workplace, train to make outages, check the presence of voltage on the current-carrying parts, remove and install portable grounding. The final stage of the training will be traditional competitions of professional skills, which will be held at the training grounds in all production divisions.
As part of this year’s repair campaign, the branch’s power engineers will have to complete a set of works on replacing defective insulation, installing vibration dampers on wires, repairing and replacing contact joints, repairing the aerial part of foundations and straightening reinforced concrete pillars, updating the grounding circuit, installing information signs and hazard warning signs. Also the branch plans to clear and expand the routes of 0.4-110 kV overhead lines with a total area of more than 558 hectares in 2019. Right-of-way clearing will prevent the occurrence of technological disturbances in the operation of power grid facilities due to the close location of trees and shrubs to power lines.
The Ulyanovsk DG branch repair program is aimed at improving the reliability and efficiency of the power grid complex in the Ulyanovsk region. Timely and high-quality implementation of all planned activities within the repair program is one of the conditions for obtaining a work readiness passport in the autumn-winter period of 2019/2020 by the Ulyanovsk DG branch.
