MOSENERGO (TGC-3)

August 17, 2004

AO MOSENERGO’s employee has been awarded a State Prize for young scientists for outstanding contribution in science and technology

On August 13, President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree On State Awards of the Russian Federation in 2003 for Young Scientists for Outstanding Contribution in Science and Technology. One of the recipients of this award was Dmitry Buyanov, AO MOSENERGO’s employee, a holder of candidate’s degree in technical science. He wrote a report on heat-mass-exchange and hydro-dynamic properties of multi-component solutions during the desalinization of waste water (jointly with a researcher of the Moscow Energy Institute Roman Agapov and the main specialist of RAO UES Yuri Shkondin).

This prize was established in 1994, in order to foster the development of the national scientific potential and encourage creativity of young scientists. State awards to young scientists for outstanding contribution in the area of science and technology are issued by a presidential decree. In order to get this award, a scientist should make a significant contribution in arts or sciences, develop or master advanced technologies that help speed up economic development and strengthen the defense potential.

Dmitry Buyanov is a leading engineer of the production and technical department of AO MOSENERGO. This is not the first award that he receives. In 1998, Dmitry Buyanov was granted a Presidential Scholarship, and in 1999, Siemens gave him a scholarship for research in water treatment at steam and gas heat power stations.

The report that was prepared by young scientists comprises the results of long-standing research in water treatment at power stations (the use of water in the technical cycle and treatment of waste water). If implemented, Buyanov’s ideas will help Russian power companies create more clean (from the environmental point of view) heat power stations.
