CenterTelecom ranked 86th in FT 100 Biggest Eastern Europe's Companies list

Moscow, June 1, 2010. CenterTelecom OJSC reports that it has been ranked 86th in the Financial Times' List of 100 Biggest Eastern Europe's Companies.

The Financial Times, one of the leading international business publications, has issued the 14th annual ranking of the FT Global 500, a yearly snapshot of the world's largest companies based on market capitalization, which includes few regional rankings. A company's ranking depends on its capitalization which is calculated as a number of its shares multiplied by its share price. FT global and regional rankings have been made as of March 31, 2010. All indicators have been converted into US dollars as of the same date. The rankings have been based on information provided by Thomson Reuters Datastream, Thomson ONE Banker and the companies.

The companies with not less than 15% free float have been included in all the lists. However their capitalization was calculated on basis of a total number of shares even if a considerable stake of a company was not in circulation.

According to the analysts the shares of Svyazinvest's inter-regional companies were growing due to the news related to forthcoming merger of the companies with Rostelecom. Two of these companies – CenterTelecom (ranked 86th) and Uralsvyazinform (ranked 87th) – were included into the list.

According to FT500, CenterTelecom's market capitalization reached US$1.293 billion; the company's consolidated revenues for 2009 amounted to RUB37.309 billion (7.23% increase against 2008). Moreover the company succeeded to considerably strengthen its position in broadband Internet access market doubling its subscriber base.
