Moscow, 12 October 2006. The Management Board of RAO "UES of Russia" has established a Committee to develop, approve and change the Company Standards. An order to that effect was signed of the Management Board Chairman Anatoly Chubais.
RAO "UES of Russia" currently has a number of Standards which were approved by the Management Board. The Standards govern the financial, corporate, and technical policies in the Company's subsidiaries and dependent companies, as well as their accounting, HR, appraisal and procurement activities.
The new Committee's key task is to prepare opinions on draft Standards or amendments to the existing Standards in order to determine whether they will help make the operations at the SDCs more efficient. In addition, the Committee will give expert appraisal of issues of systematic nature considered by RAO UES Management Board which are likely to have a long-term effect on SDCs' activities.
The Committee was created in order to enhance the philosophy of development, approval and implementation of the Company Standards while taking into consideration the opinions of SDC representatives.
The Committee will include representatives of WGCs, TGCs, IDCs, OAO "Federal Grid Company of the Unified Energy System", retail companies, the Reform Management Center (RMC), and the legal department of the Corporate Center (CC) of RAO "UES of Russia". Under the Standards Committee Regulation, new members will be appointed every six months from among the SDCs' Directors General.
