Ekaterinburg, December 14th, 2006. The Agreement was signed by the Governor of Sverdlovsk region Eduard Rossel and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of RAO “UES of Russia” Anatoly Chubais.
The signed Agreement is aimed at increase of the reliability of energy supply of consumers, the arrangement of necessary conditions for attachment of new consumers to electric networks and increase of power consumption of consumers that were attached earlier, exclusion of occurrence of power shortage under the conditions of growth of electric consumption for keeping and increase of rates of development of economy and social sphere of Sverdlovsk region.
The Agreement provides complex development of generating powers and electric network objects on the territory of Sverdlovsk region on the basis of the most available scientific and technical technologies.
Territorial generating company No.9 within the limits of realization of the Agreement plans the installation of a generating unit with the power of 115 megawatt (approximate term of introduction – 2009) and a coal-fired block with the power of 600 megawatt at Nizhneturinskaya HPP (approximate term of introduction – 2011-2012), development of Novo-Sverdlovskaya HPP that provides the increase of power on 110 megawatt (approximate term of introduction – 2011).
The company is also working on the project of construction of Novo-Bogoslovskaya HPP with the power of 1000 megawatt. The final decision of its realization will be made by July 1st, 2007 and it will depend on the outlook of consumption of heat and electric energy.
Investment projects of TGC-9 in Sverdlovsk region can provide the power growth in the region on more than 1800 megawatt.
