Moscow. 13 June 2006. Today, Chairman of the Management Board of RAO "UES of Russia" Anatoly Chubais will present a report at the 10^th International Economic Forum in St.-Petersburg.

This year, over 1,500 participants are attending the event, including heads of states and governments, Russian ministers and those of other countries, representatives of major financial-industrial and investment groups, and members of the academic and business community.

This year's forum has a new format, which focuses on the most important issues of the global economy, including new investment policy instruments.

Specifically, the Forum will address in detail the current status and development prospects of the Russian electricity industry, a matter of great importance now that the sector reform has entered its final stage, and a large-scale campaign has been launched to raise investments needed for the electricity industry's development.

Also, the Global Energy International Prize will be awarded during the event. This year, the Prize will go to Academician Evgeny Velikhov, Russia, Doctor Masaji Yoshikawa, Japan, and Doctor Robert Aymar, France, for the development of scientific and engineering foundation for the ITER project.

Founded in 2002, the Global Energy International Prize is a scientific award for outstanding theoretical, experimental and applied research, development, inventions and discoveries in the field of energy development and power generation. Conceived by the leading Russian academics and energy companies, the idea of creating such an award was supported by President Vladimir Putin. RAO "UES of Russia" is one of the founders of the Prize, which provide the prize money and cover organizational expenses.
