On results of Gazprom delegation’s participation in XI St. Petersburg International Economic Forum

The XI International Economic Forum has adjourned in St. Petersburg. Today within the Forum, Alexander Medvedev met with Zhou Jiping, Vice President of CNPC.

The parties discussed the progress with executing the Protocol for Russian natural gas deliveries to the People’s Republic of China and expressed a common opinion that commercial negotiations about core issues coordination for Russian gas supply organization to China were progressing in a fruitful manner.

In the frames of the Forum, Alexander Medvedev met with David J. O'Reilly, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Chevron to discuss oil and gas sector cooperation issues.

Additionally, Valery Golubev and Alexander Medvedev met with Yury Boiko, Minister of Fuel and Energy of Ukraine. The parties examined an issue of Russian gas transit via the territory of Ukraine to European consumers. The partiers envisaged the need to increase investment volume aimed at enhancing operating reliability of Ukrainian gas transmission system due to the system importance for Russian gas transportation to Europe.

Within the last day of the Forum, Alexander Medvedev met with Roberto Formigoni, President of Lombardy (Italy) and Marcel Kramer, CEO of Gasunie.

The meetings examined issues for further cooperation in the natural gas supply sector in terms of the European energy market liberalization.

Alexander Medvedev also met with Mikael Lilius, President and CEO of Fortum. The parties underscored successful cooperation in the frames of joint projects as well as discussed core issues for Russian-Finnish cooperation in the energy sector.

The Gazprom delegation took part in the round table “New Players on the Old Markets” aimed at discussing the prospects for attracting investments to develop the energy sector.
