The delegation of OAO Rostelecom took part in the international telecommunications forum Global Telecommunications Meeting (GTM)-2007, which took place in Washington (USA) from 21st till 24th of May 2007.

At the GTM OAO Rostelecom held a meeting with one of the major international carriers. Deutsche Telekom AG , the division International Carrier Sales & Solutions (ICSS) . The parties discussed all aspects of the co-operation between Rostelecom and   ICSS as far as the existing business is concerned (voice traffic exchange, capacity lease, Transit Europe-Asia project) as well as strategic projects (IP-VPN, transit of signaling traffic etc.).

Both companies highly appreciated 15 years of co-operation and noted a necessity to join forces for developing new services in transit of voice and data, in order to offer them to the corporate and wholesale customers: for example, international IP-VPN, for which there is high demand among customers of Rostelecom and Deutsche Telekom. Besides, the carriers discussed potential for extending co-operation in capacity lease in the TEA project.

At the meeting the representatives of Rostelecom and Deutsche Telekom  ICSS (Mr. Helmut Angst, Senior Executive Vice-President) signed a Memorandum about strategic co-operation, which should enable closer co-operation in several projects and regular meetings for evaluation of achieved results and potential for developing new services.
