Results of Alexey Miller and Georgy Shpak’s working meeting

A working meeting between Alexey Miller, Gazprom’s Management Committee Chairman and Georgy Shpak, Governor of the Ryazan Region was held today at Gazprom’s Headquarters.

The meeting addressed implementation of the Cooperation Agreement adopted between Gazprom and the Ryazan Region. In particular, the parties debated intensification of gas consumption in the Region as well as wider use of natural gas as a motor fuel.

Gazprom and the Ryazan Region entered into a 5-year Cooperation Agreement on 16 February 2000.

Last year, Gazprom provided the Ryazan Region with over 4.5 bcm of gas and roughly the same amount is targeted for 2004.

The gas supply network of the Ryazan Region is developed at 64.7% of maximum gas demand, including 85.1 %, in cities, towns and urban settlements and 31%, in rural area. Identical parameters throughout Russia average 52.7%, 60.2% and 33.1%, respectively.

A Gas Supply Expansion Agreement was signed by Gazprom and the Ryazan Region’s authorities on 22 January 2003.

In 2003, Gazprom allocated RUR 130 million for the construction of gas distribution networks in the Ryazan Region. Another RUR 168 million and RUR 40 million were earmarked for this purpose by the Regional authorities and from the Federal targeted Program on Social Development of Rural Area up to 2010, respectively.

Under the Program on Gas Deliveries to the RF Regions for 2004, Gazprom plans to channel RUR 88.95 million to construct gas supply facilities in the Ryazan Region.
