AO MOSENERGO’s sportsmen won prizes at International Moravia UltraMarathon

Brno (Czech Republic)

From July 4 to July 10, the International Moravian UltraMarathon (7 marathons in 7 days) took place. The Russian athletes Aleksandr Alekseev and Irina Koval both sponsored by AO MOSENERGO won prizes.

In seven days, the strongest European runners ran seven marathons (approximately 43-49 km per day). The route included tourist and bicycle roads, as well as forest and mountain paths in Moravia. In order not to get lost, the athletes had to follow marks and check the way against the map. In total, 40 athletes from England, Germany, Russia, Czech Republic and other countries took place in the event. However, not all competitors who started the race could complete the difficult contest. Only 17 contestants crossed the finish line of the seventh marathon.

As a result of seven marathons, the honored Russian master of sports and the economist from Kashirskaya GRES Irina Koval joined the top three sportswomen. She completed seven marathons in 32 hours 20 minutes 53 seconds. The fastest was Sharon Gater from Great Britain. The bronze was won by the German sportswomen Anke Molkentin.

Among men, the winner was Aleksandr Bychkov from Russia. The silver went to Slovakian sportsman Ivan Durkovsky. The honored Russian trainer in athletics Aleksandr Alekseev, who also took part in the UltraMarathon took third place.

AO MOSENERGO is active in promoting sports within the Company and contributes to the sports movement as a whole. Presently, the sponsorship is provided to the Russian Olympic Committee, Sports Society Dinamo, Russian Federation of Canoe Rowing and Mikhail Botvinnik Foundation.
