The branch of “IDGC of Volga”, JSC – “Samara distribution grids” started the new stage of reconstruction of “Severnaya” substation of 110/10 kV voltage in Samara. The project first of all is aimed to raise reliability of power supply of consumers who live in the Sovetsky, Oktyabrsky and Promishlenny regions in Samara. Besides, as the result of modernization of substation the new living quarters, offices and social amenities will get the opportunity to be connected to power grids. During the reconstruction, which began in 2005, it is planned to renew and substitution of the overage equipment. By now the new closed distribution devise of 10 kV voltage, voltage and control cables, response panel and other equipment that provide uninterrupted work of substation have been installed and response panel have been built. These measures are aimed to raise reliability of the substation’s work and allow considerable reduction of the possibility of blackouts. After substitution of the second transformer in 2009 the total power of substation will rise to 80 megawatt and will provide social and economic development of the three Samara districts in future. Total sum of investments into the reconstruction of power object until 2010 will be over 200 million rubles. Over 120 million rubles from the planned have been already spent.
