Alexander Buraev has been appointed the new Director of NLMK’s Long Products Division. Previously Mr. Buraev was the Head of Production at Operations Department at Lipetsk site. In his new position, Alexander Buraev will be responsible for the development of the following companies: Nizhne-Serguinsky Steelmaking and Metalware Plant (NSMMZ), Uralsky Plant of Precision Alloys (UZPS), Kaluzhsky Electric Steelmaking Plant (Kaluga mill), Vtorchermet NLMK and some other companies incorporated in the Long Products Division.
Alexey A. Lapshin, President of NLMK, said: “Alexander Buraev is an experienced professional who has made a substantial contribution to the development of the Lipetsk production site. He is now entrusted with the important task of bringing NLMK’s Long Products Division to a new level, by increasing the output of new high quality products, restructuring our Urals scrap collecting assets, radically improving our metalware unit operations, and enhancing environmental and industrial safety. The Group’s Management Board has confidence in his experience and managerial skills and wishes him success in this new position.”
Olga Naumova, who previously held this office, has resigned from the Company.
For reference: Alexander Buraev was born in 1963. In 1986 he graduated from the Lipetsk Technical Institute majoring in Steelmaking and Welding Technologies. Since 2007 he has been Head of Production, Operations Department at NLMK. From 2002 to 2007 he worked as Head of Cold Rolled and Coated Flats Shop at Lipetsk plant. He has held different offices at NLMK since 1988. He was named Honorable Steelmaker in 2003, and in 2004 he was awarded the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, II class.
