GAZPROM

April 19, 2010

On working meeting among Alexey Miller, Yury Boiko and Evgeny Bakulin

The Gazprom headquarters hosted today a working meeting among Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Company’s Management Committee; Yury Boiko, Ukrainian Fuel and Energy Minister; and Evgeny Bakulin, Chairman of the Board of NAK Naftogaz Ukrainy.

The meeting continued addressing the parties’ interaction within the long-term gas supply and transit contracts. Particular attention was paid to the issues related to the price parameters of the Russian gas purchase and sale contract.

Background:

On January 19, 2009 Gazprom and NAK Naftogaz Ukrainy singed two separate contracts:

- the purchase and sale contract for the period from 2009 through to 2019;

- the contract on volumes, terms and conditions of natural gas transit across Ukraine for the period from 2009 through to 2019.

On November 24, 2009 Gazprom and NAK Naftogaz Ukrainy signed addenda to the natural gas purchase and sale contract, according to which the annual gas quantity contracted for 2010 was decreased to 33.75 billion cubic meters.

On April 8, 2010 the parties reached an accord to raise the annual amount of natural gas contracted for 2010 from 33.75 to 36.5  billion cubic meters in order to secure reliable gas transit to European consumers during the winter period. Thus, taking into account the actual supplies in the first quarter, the amount of gas contracted by NAK Naftogaz Ukrainy for the period from April to December 2010 will grow to 30 billion cubic meters.
