GAZPROM

April 14, 2010

On working meeting between Alexey Miller and Dmitry Kobylkin

The Gazprom headquarters hosted today a working meeting between Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Company’s Management Committee and Dmitry Kobylkin, Governor of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug (YaNAO).

The parties addressed the issues of cooperation between Gazprom and the YaNAO Administration, in particular, the progress with the Agreement of Cooperation in 2010. An emphasis was placed on a high level of partnership in all joint activities: Gazprom’s projects execution in the Okrug (Yamal megaproject inclusive), gasification of and gas supply to the YaNAO, as well as social programs implementation.

Alexey Miller and Dmitry Kobylkin underlined the high efficiency of the established interaction between Gazprom and the YaNAO Administration and confirmed their readiness to deepen the mutually beneficial cooperation in the long run.

The accords have been reached to sign in September 2010 the new annual Agreement of Cooperation for 2011.

Background:

The Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug is the major gas production province of Gazprom, with over 90 per cent of gas extracted here by the Company.

Gazprom is implementing the Yamal megaproject in the YaNAO. Its first stage involves construction of pre-development facilities in the Bovanenkovo oil and gas condensate field, the Bovanenkovo – Ukhta gas trunkline system and the Obskaya – Bovanenkovo railroad.

The basic document governing the cooperation between Gazprom and the YaNAO is the General Agreement. This document is  followed up with the annual Agreements of Cooperation, as well as the Memorandum of  Cooperation, Accords on Gasification and Cooperation in the natural resources use signed by the parties.

The average gasification level of the YaNAO accounts for 51.8 per cent (throughout Russia – 63.2 per cent). Between 2007 and 2009 Gazprom spent around RUB 390 million to gasify the Okrug. The funds were used for designing and launching the construction of five gas laterals with the total length of 30.6 kilometers to the cities of Labytnangi, Nadym, Novy Urengoy and the settlement of  Kharasaim. In 2009 three gas laterals were put onstream in Labytnangi and Novy Urengoy. In 2010 Gazprom will provide the YaNAO with in excess of RUB 30 million to complete the construction of two gas laterals to Nadym and Kharasaim.
