On working meeting between Alexander Ananenkov and Gennady Alekseev

The Gazprom Headquarters hosted today a working meeting between Alexander Ananenkov, Deputy Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee and Gennady Alekseev, First Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).

The parties discussed the progress with implementing the Agreement of Cooperation between Gazprom and the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), touching upon the preparation of the bilateral Accord on gasification of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), as well as the interaction between Gazprom and the Government of the Republic within the execution of the Eastern Program.

In addition, Alexander Ananenkov and Gennady Alekseev addressed prospects of the Chayandinskoye oil and gas condensate field development.

Reference:

The Agreement of Cooperation between Gazprom and the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) was signed in July 2007. The Gazprom Working Group for cooperation with the Government of the Republic was set up at the same time.

Today, Gazprom doesn’t supply natural gas to the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).

The September 3, 2007 Order by the Russian Federation Industry and Energy Ministry approved the Development Program for an integrated gas production, transportation and supply system in Eastern Siberia and the Far East, taking into account potential gas exports to China and other Asia-Pacific countries (Eastern Program). Gazprom was identified by the Russian Government as the Program execution coordinator.

Pursuant to the Program, one of four new gas production centres of Russia is planned to be established in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). The implementation of the Eastern Program will enable to firstly satisfy current and future gas needs of Eastern Siberia and the Far East and to start exporting pipeline gas and LNG to the Asia-Pacific region.

Pursuant to the Directive of the Russian Federation Government #493-p dated April 16, 2008, the license for the Chayandinskoye oil and gas condensate field located in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) and referred to as an object of federal significance will be granted to Gazprom.
