Member of RAO UES Management Board, Managing Director Vladimir Avetisyan meets students of Stanford Graduate School of Business

Moscow, 16 December 2004. Today, the member of the Management Board and Managing Director of RAO "UES of Russia" Vladimir Avetisyan had a meeting with students of the Stanford Graduate School of Business, USA.* The Stanford delegation consisting of young economists from the USA, Canada, Great Britain, Sweden and India came to Russia to study the main trends in the development of the country's economy.

In his speech to the Stanford students, Vladimir Avetisyan told about the status of restructuring at RAO "UES of Russia" and the energy company's priorities at the stage of transition to a competitive electricity market.

Many Stanford graduates work for the world's leading investment companies as investment analysts assessing effectiveness of investments in the economies of different countries. In this connection, Vladimir Avetisyan emphasized, among other things, that the creation of new, independent players of the electricity market in Russia will have a positive effect on the attractiveness of energy companies for investors. Stanford students noted that the energy reform in Russia is unparalleled in its scope. They also stated that successful reorganization of the energy sector will promote investment attractiveness of Russia's industry.
