All tankers of the Primorsk Shipping Corporation have been certified in accordance with the Ships and Port Facilities Safety Code. From July 1, 2004 certification in accordance with the international Ships and Port Facilities Safety Code is compulsory so every transport facility and all ports must have proper certificate, safety plans. Shipping companies must install additional equipment on their vessels, train crews, safety officers in accordance with the Code requirements. Vitaly Raspopov, Director of Safety and Quality Department of PRISCO said PRISCO domestic vessels the first in Russia were checked up and inspected by Safety and Navigation Services of the Russian Federation Ministry of Transportation and Register of Shipping and got temporary Certificates of compliance with the new requirements of the Code being implemented. PRISCO (Singapore) Pte. Ltd., subsidiary of the Primorsk Shipping Corporation operating offshore fleet of the Corporation got required Certificates for all tankers for 5 years.
