International Conference on Development in the Gas Industry of South and East European Countries in Transition

Belgrade (Serbia) hosted yesterday the International Conference on Development in the Gas Industry of South and East European Countries in Transition. The Conference was attended by George H. B. Verberg, President of the International Gas Union, Gazprom’s delegation headed by Alexander Ananenkov, Deputy Chairman of Gazprom’s Management Committee, Vojislav Vuletic, Secretary General of the Gas Association of Serbia and Montenegro, Zeljko Popovic, General Manager of the NIS-Petroleum Industry of Serbia and other officials.

Making an opening speech, Alexander Ananenkov underscored that “with Europe’s integration intensified, similar Conferences were playing a significant role in experience sharing between gas businesses all over the world.”

On 14 June, Alexander Ananenkov delivered key Report on Directions in Natural Gas Supply and Demand. Alexander Ananenkov assured the International Conference participants that Gazprom was set to do its best to ensure mutually advantageous cooperation between gas producers and consumers, thus, largely contributing to stronger energy sustainability and dynamical development of European economies.

On 15 June, Alexander Ananenkov made the Report on Fuel Cell Based Implementation in Power Generators under Operation at Gazprom’s Facilities Prospects. “Gazprom is holding a leadership position in designing and applying fuel cell-based civil power generators,” – stressed Alexander Ananenkov.

Bogdan Budzulyak, Gazprom’s Management Committee Member and Head of Gazprom’s Gas Transportation, Underground Storage and Utilization Department also was among the reporters. Bogdan Budzulyak informed the Conference of the development of an inspection service system for trunk gas pipelines in Russia. Igor Belousenko, Head of Gazprom’s Energy Division, presented the Report on Development of Gazprom’s Independent Power Producers -IPP- as a Factor of Elevation of Gas Supply Efficiency in Russia.

The Conference will last until 17 June.
