Andrey Cherezov VIsited a substation 110/10 kV “Stadium” as part of his working trip to Samara

The Deputy Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation, the Deputy Head of the Government Commission for Ensuring Power Supply Safety (federal headquarters) Andrey Cherezov visited the substation 110/10 kV “Stadium” in Samara, which is the main feeding center of Samara Arena stadium being constructed. The event was held as part of the working trip of the Deputy Chairman of the RF Government Vitaly Mutko on the issues regarding preparation of Samara region for holding 2018 FIFA World Cup. The minister of energy and housing and public utilities of Samara region Sergey Krainev was also a member of the delegation.

Under implementation of the government tasks, Decree of the RF Government No 518 dated 20.06.2013 has approved the Program on Preparing for the FIFA World Cup to be Held in Russia in 2018, which comprises the sub-program “Construction and Reconstruction of Power Supply Infrastructure”. The document provided for the construction of SS 110/10 kV “Stadium” with 2x40 MVA transformers and feeders of one circuit HVL-110 kV Moskovskaya-1 and one circuit HVL-110 kV Semeikino-2 (forming 4 aerial cable power lines). The construction works have been carried out from April 2016 and were completed a month prior to the established completion date. The substation operation was started by the President of the Russian Federation in the videoconference mode in the middle of November last year.

When visiting the grid facility, Andrey Cherezov reviewed the equipment installed on the substation and the technological solutions applied in the course of construction. Connection of future consumers, including Samara Arena stadium, and readiness of the operational and attending staff were discussed apart from other issues.

The new substation 110/10 kV “Stadium” is the key power facility of FIFA World Cup-2018 infrastructure in Samara. It is fitted with the up-to-date home equipment the main advantages whereof are economical efficiency, energy efficiency, as well as operational ease and serviceability. Many design solutions are registered inventions and are unrivaled throughout the world. Two transformers of 40 MVA power each are installed on the substation. Both devices were made by Togliatti Transformer LLC, 10kV cells were made by GC Elektroshchit – TM Samara CJSC. The equipment applied meets contemporary standards and compares favorably with other facilities in terms of the economic and operational parameters. The funds were raised from the federal budget and with employment of funds of IDGC of Volga, PJSC (a part of Rosseti Group). Totally over 660 million rubles have been allocated to the construction of the facility.

Summing up the visit, Andrey Cherezov pointed out the high level of works performed by resources of IDGC of Volga, PJSC during construction of the grid infrastructure of Samara region in preparation to 2018 FIFA World Cup. “The results of our concerted efforts will enable to provide for the reliable power supply of the relevant sports facilities”, – the Deputy Minister noted.
