April 8, 2008, Moscow: COMSTAR – United TeleSystems (COMSTAR-UTS JSC, LSE: CMST), the largest supplier of integrated telecommunication solutions in Russia and the CIS, constructs virtual privet network (VPN) for JSC JSCB Probusinessbank in Saint-Petersburg.

The Project being implemented by COMSTAR-UTS in Saint-Petersburg provides for step-by-step connection of all 19 offices of the bank to the Internet and interconnection to a single virtual telecoms network. At the moment COMSTAR-UTS, using resources of company’s own digital network, organized dedicated broadband Internet access channel over IP/MPLS technology in the central office. In the nearest future another 10 objects will be connected to the network.

The next phase provides for step-by-step connection of other 8 offices of the bank to the Internet and integration to VPN network during the year 2008 and also it considers connection of new, planned to be established offices of the bank. Thus, the private data transmission network will cover all the operating representative offices of Probusinessbank in Saint-Petersburg.

The applied scheme of secure communications organization will allow easily to scale up the virtual network, increase its capacity and expend the scope of the provided services taking into account expansion of territorial presence and alteration of the client’s business demands.
