Aeroflot-Russian Airlines operating results for February and two months of 2004 have been summed up.

In February Aeroflot carried 420,800 passengers (including 2,500 passengers of charter flights) and 10,700 tons of post and freight. There were made 1.370 billion passenger-kilometers and 181.6mln ton-kilometers.

In February 2004 operating volumes have increased in comparison with the last year:

• according to passenger-kilometers – by 18.0%,
• according to ton-kilometers – by 28.6%,
• according to carriage of passengers – by 17.8%,
• according to freight carriage – by 51.8%.

Carriage of passengers raised by 19.3% on the international air lines (IAL) and by 14.4% on the home air lines (HAL).

They have flown in the aircraft fleet (AF) on the whole by 12.9% hours more than last year. At the same time AF passenger types have flown by 9.6% hours more and freight types by 135.6% more. The average daily fly of hours per an average properly functioning AF plane amounted to 9.2 hours. Percentage of enplaned traffic amounted to 57.0% in February, it increased by 4.9% compared with the last year level. Passenger seats’ occupation rate amounted to 67.4% and exceeded the last year rate by 5.5%.

Aeroflot passenger departure raised on the whole by 19.1% or by 34,100 passengers vs. the last year in all the Aeroflot subsidiaries.

For two months of 2004 there were carried 865,900 passengers and 18,500 tons of post and freight. There were made 2.865 billion passenger-kilometers and 361.0 million ton-kilometers.

In comparison with the last year operating volumes have increased during two months:

• according to passenger-kilometers – by 16.5%,
• according to ton-kilometers – by 22.6%,
• according to carriage of passengers – by 16.2%,
• according to freight carriage – by 33.0%.

Percentage of enplaned traffic amounted to 56.2%; it exceeded the last year level by 4.2% and. Passenger seats’ occupation rate amounted to 68.6%; it exceeded the last year level by 6.3%.

Aeroflot Director General Valery Okulov mentioned among the tendencies of “the successful beginning” of 2004 the exceeding revenues rate over expenses and significant own sales increase.
