Aeroflot switches to summer timetable

On March 28, 2004, Aeroflot-Russian Airlines starts making flights according to the summer timetable which will be valid till October 30, 2004.

In summer period of 2004 Aeroflot will make flights to 88 cities of 42 countries of the world including 6 CIS countries (Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Kirghizia, Ukraine, Uzbekistan).

Aeroflot summer timetable includes 65 regular international routes: to 33 points in Europe, 6 – in America and Canada, 2 – in Africa, 7 – in the Near and Middle East, 10 – in Asia, 7 – in CIS countries.

Aeroflot goes on developing flights inside Russia and to CIS countries. Beside traditional regular flights of the airline company to Anapa, Astrakhan, Vladivostok, Volgograd, Ekaterinburg, Irkutsk, Kaliningrad, Krasnodar, Murmansk, Mineralnye Vody, Nizhnevartovsk, Nizhny Novgorod, Novosibirsk, Omsk, Perm, Petropavlovsk-Kamchtsky, Smara, Saint Petersburg, Ufa, Khabarovsk, Chelyabinsk there will be some new flights to Barnaul, Kemerovo, Tyumen, Surgut, Krasnoyarsk, Minsk and Dushanbe.

In summer 2004 flights to 33 points abroad and in Russia are to be made according to Code-Sharing Agreements with 20 airline companies – Aeroflot partners as joint operation flights.

Compared with the summer timetable of the last year Aeroflot routes and frequency of flights in the current season are remarkable for higher intensity and maximum optimization of changing planes.

Flight frequency is to be increased for regular international flights mostly demanded and perspective and for tourist routs to Nice, Madrid, Düsseldorf, Athens, Vienna, Prague, Belgrade, Malta, Cairo, Beirut, Teheran, Dubai, Istanbul, Antalya, Delhi, Hong Kong, Seoul, Shanghai, Los Angeles, Havana, Tashkent.

Regular flight to Bombay (Mumbai) is to be made again 5 times a week by Tu-214.

Flights to Lisbon, San Francisco, Ljubljana, Amman, Vilnius have been suspended providing passenger with alternative transportation based on routes of airline companies – Aeroflot partners.

Changes in the sphere of the state regulation of air carriages such as quotas abolition from April 1, 2004, announced by the aviation authorities can stimulate air carriages development on the internal routes.

The company has increased significantly weekly flights to Saint Petersburg (from 35 to 53), Nizhny Novgorod (from 14 to 20) Krasnodar (from 21 to 34), Ekaterinburg (from 12 to 21), Mineralnye Vody (from 5 to 7), Sochi (from 17 to 25).

Aeroflot social project “Kaliningrad-Shuttle” goes on developing further. In order to satisfy the demand for passenger carriages in the period of summer holidays daily flight frequency is to be increased from 4 to 5.

Daily flights to Kemerovo and Barnaul will start in spring. The airline company with an active support of Lipetsk Region Administration is preparing regular flights to Lipetsk.

Aeroflot mission is to create routes supplying the demand for air transportation providing development of home and international lines, convenience of passengers. The distinguishing feature of the summer season as well as of the last winter period is regular and charter carriages within the large-scale program of the air fleet replacement. The air fleet restructuring program providing substitution of 27 foreign-made planes is carried out according to the schedule.

Aeroflot new liners A319/320 are to make flights to Cairo, Teheran, Dubai on nineteen European routes, and also to Ekaterinburg.

The summer timetable is to be provided with 72 airliners. Aeroflot plans to fly about 164,665 hours and make 46,721 paired flights during summer period.
