Aeroflot-Russian Airlines operating results for April and four months of 2004 have been summed up.

In April Aeroflot carried 499,000 passengers (including 1,800 passengers of charter flights) and 12,200 tons of post and freight. There were made 1.518 billion passenger-kilometers and 208.8mln ton-kilometers.

In April 2004 operating volumes have increased in comparison with the last year: according to passenger-kilometers – by 21.2 per cent, according to ton-kilometers – by 28.6 per cent, according to carriage of passengers – by 21.4 per cent, according to freight carriage – by 33.5 per cent.

Percentage of enplaned traffic amounted to 56.3 per cent in April; passenger seats’ occupation rate was 64.5 per cent, and it exceeded the last year level.

Fuel consumption was reduced by 4,700 ton. Fuel rate amounted to 479 gram per a ton-kilometer and it was reduced by 23 gram compared with the last year.

For four months of 2004 the airline company carried 1.833mln passengers and 43,700 tons of post and freight. There were made 5.871 billion passenger-kilometers and 784.7 million ton-kilometers.

In comparison with the last year operating volumes have increased during the first quarter: according to passenger-kilometers – by 16.4 per cent, according to ton-kilometers – by 24.0 per cent, according to carriage of passengers – by 17.1 per cent, according to freight carriage – by 30.9 per cent.

Percentage of enplaned traffic amounted to 57.3 per cent; it exceeded the last year level by 3.6 per cent. Passenger seats’ occupation rate amounted to 67.2 per cent; it exceeded the last year level by 3.9 per cent.

During four months of 2004 366,200 tons of aviation kerosene was consumed. Fuel rate amounted to 466 gram per a ton-kilometer; it was reduced by 50 gram compared with the last year level.

Aeroflot Director General Valery Okulov mentioned such positive tendencies of four months of 2004 as yield growth for business activity and strategic significance of the airline company’s actions on development of flights in RF and CIS. Besides flight frequency increase they made a lot in May to start new flights to Minsk, Kemerovo, Barnaul, Tyumen.
