According to preliminary data, 230 664 vehicles and autokits were sold by JSC GAZ in 2004, including 69 976 passenger cars, 160 688 trucks, special-purpose vehicles and buses. This is by 14 629 (6.8%) vehicles and autokits more than in 2003

The sales of the whole model range of GAZ vehicles in the Russian Federation amounted to 186 143 vehicles. 44 521 vehicles and autokits, which is by 14% more than in 2003, were exported. 34 523 units (sales increase - 2.6%) were sold to CIS countries; export sales in foreign countries increased seven times as against 2003 and amounted to 9 998 units. 7 834 autokits were delivered to the Ukrainian and Lithuanian assembly plants.
The main sales markets of GAZ vehicles in CIS countries are Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Armenia and others.
For the last year, the Russian Vehicles Trading House Ltd. which sells GAZ vehicles had carried out a lot of activietes toward expanding export to the European countries, such as Bulgaria, Serbia and Montenegro, Croatia, Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Germany, Italy etc.
The GAZelle vehicles with the Euro-3 polish-made diesel engine meant to be sold to the European countries are assembled by the Rokishkis assembly plant.
There is an increase of sales to the Middle East, Asian and African countries. The largest deliveries were made to Iraq: 8 884 vehicles.
The export "geography" is expanding: in 2004 GAZ vehicles were shipped to Turkey, Afghanistan and Cuba.
Now JSC GAZ supplies its vehicles to more than 30 countries of the world; the export share is projected to be at least 20% of the total production volume in the future.
