The Gazprom headquarters hosted today a working meeting between Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Company's Management Committee and Natalia Komarova, Governor of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug (KhMAO) – Yugra.
The parties discussed the progress with the Agreement of Cooperation placing an emphasis on construction and retrofitting of gas supply and gasification facilities in the region. They also considered a possible increase in gas supplies by Gazprom.
It was stressed that construction and retrofitting of gasification facilities in the region was meeting the preset deadlines.
The meeting paid special attention to the development of social and transport infrastructure in the KhMAO.
Background
Gazprom and the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug – Yugra Government signed the Agreement of Cooperation for 2011 to 2013.
The document outlines the key areas of joint activities including uninterrupted gas supplies in the agreed amounts to regional consumers, development of the regional gas transmission system and adoption of energy saving technologies.
Natural gas penetration in the KhMAO accounts for 39 per cent including 39.2 per cent in cities and towns, and 40.6 per cent in the rural area. The identical figures throughout Russia average 63.1, 69.8 and 46.7 per cent respectively.
