IRKUT presents new integrated aviation complex

Irkut Corporation is largely participating at Search & Rescue Tools exhibition (pavilion 57, booth C20-A), which takes place at the Russian Exhibition Centre in Moscow from May 25 to May 28, 2004. Corporation presents the integrated aviation complex to monitor emergency situations and perform disaster relief. The aviation complex received a gold medal and two diplomas at the International salon of inventions, new equipment and goods, which was held recently in Geneva (Switzerland). The winners were chosen by a prominent jury consisting of 70 experts.

"The gold medal at the international salon in Geneva is a good example that the integrated aviation complex has a great demand potential on the international market", said Alexei Fedorov, president of Irkut Corporation. "Pursuing the strategy of diversified growth Irkut has turned into one of the leaders in development and production of such aviation systems, all that contributing to making Corporation even more stable and less prone to external risks".

The integrated aviation complex consisting of the Be-200 amphibious aircraft and multipurpose unmanned aerial system was developed with leading-edge technologies. The remotely piloted vehicle is a lightweight platform with a maximum take-off weight of 200 kg. This platform is capable of performing patrol duties at the altitude of up to 6,000 m as far as 200 km from the home base for 14 hours. Its major basic advantages are ease of employment and enhanced capabilities of optronic and electronic equipment. It operates from any plain surface, such as a piece of highway, 300 m long and 10 m wide.

The images received by a TV camera and night-vision sensors are transferred in a real time mode to the ground control station located at a distance of up to 200 km. The system enables to carry out round-the-clock monitoring over the territory of more than 60,000 sq. km.

The control station is capable of receiving data from two patrolling unmanned aerial vehicles simultaneously. The third one can be always ready for take-off. Depending on the assigned mission, the vehicle flies automatically along the pre-planned route or is controlled manually from the ground. Vehicle control does not require any special skills and is very simple.
