For Reference

One of the most effective and important platforms today for building intergovernmental dialogue on a wide range of issues related to the fuel and energy complex is the World Energy Council (WEC).

The organization's activities affect a wide range of issues in the fields of gas, oil, coal, nuclear industry, electric power industry, renewable and alternative energy sources, natural energy resources, and energy saving.

As part of the regular meetings of the Executive Assembly of the WEC and the largest international forums and summits held under the auspices of the Council, the leaders of the world's countries, heads of major energy companies, experts and representatives of the academic community discuss the industry and make specific decisions on political, socio-economic, investment, environmental and other aspects of the development of global energy technologies.

In 2013, the WEC Board decided to establish the Eurasian Committee, calling for increased active cooperation between Europe and Asia in the area of fuel and energy. After establishment of WEC national committees, members should become countries such as Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan. These same states mentioned will join Russia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Iran, Armenia, for which national committees have already been established.
