During the working meeting of Pavel Livinskiy, Director General of ROSSETI, and Georgy Poltavchenko, the Governor of Saint Petersburg, attended by Andrey Ryumin, Head of Lenergo, the company in the ROSSETI Group, the operating results of the regional distribution complex in the past autumn and winter period were totaled up and the issues of its further development were raised.
Georgy Poltavchenko took a favorable view of the performance outcomes of power engineers during the peak loads and expressed gratitude for the reliable power supply to consumers when the weather conditions were severe.
The professionals of the ROSSETI Group were noted to be the ones who not only prevented mass outages in the Northern capital, but also reduced the average time to restore power supply when the technology was violated by 30% compared to the previous autumn and winter period. This was made possible due to effective training of the employees and preparation of equipment and professional interaction between power engineers, local authorities and divisions of the Ministry for Emergency Situations.
The parties of the meeting has also negotiated the prospects of implementing of the Federal Testing Center project in Saint Petersburg.
The Governor of Saint Petersburg supported the appointment of Vladimir Kharitonov as the Head of it in April of the current year.
Pavel Livinskiy pointed out that the Center will become a nationwide laboratory where equipment from all over the country will be tested, as well as R&D process will be relied on.
In turn, Andrey Ryumin reported on the previous public hearings of the scheme and program for the prospective development of the power industry in Saint Petersburg for 2018-2022 and the draft amendments to Lenenergo investment program. Georgy Poltavchenko thanked ROSSETI and Lenenergo for their willingness to discuss topical issues of the industry and to maintain an open dialogue with the residents and businesses of the region.
At the end of the meeting, Georgy Poltavchenko supported the plans of the ROSSETI on further consolidation of Saint Petersburg network assets since this would reduce operational costs significantly and improve the efficiency of the power grid management.
