Moscow, Russia / Waltham MA, USA — Mobile TeleSystems OJSC («MTS» — NYSE: MBT), the largest mobile phone operator in Russia and the CIS, together with NetCracker Technology, announced today that they have completed the production deployment of the NetCracker solution in Moscow and Central Russia. The solution, based on the NetCracker product suite, will optimize infrastructure and inventory management processes and establish a central information source for the planning, design, and management of the MTS network.

NetCracker product modules deployed as part of the solution include Resource Inventory, Outside Plant, Service Provisioning, and Discovery & Reconciliation.

The solution’s breadth and functional scope is unique for the Russian market because it covers all elements of the MTS network including the Radio Access Network (RAN), mobile switching network, and transport network. Easy access to up-to-date network resource data combined with sophisticated analytical capabilities will allow MTS to create optimal solutions for deploying the infrastructure required for customer services, including 3G services.
