Technical heads of the company gather once a quarter for discussion of the most urgent issues of operation and development of the grid complex of the region.
On 26 February, a meting of the Science and Engineering Council, IDGC of North-West, JSC, will be held in St. Petersburg. This is the first meeting of the company's technical heads this year.
Among the issues included in the agenda there are issues that need a scientific approach. Therefore, the representatives of scientific research institutes were invited to the SEC meeting. It is planned, in particular, that the head of 'Electric networks and systems' laboratory of St.Petersbur State Polytechnical Institute Leonid Kuchumov will make a presentation 'Operation of networks with isolated or partially earthed neutral wire'.
In continuation of the issue of the previous SEC meeting that took place in Petrazavodsk in November 2008, the participants of the council will receive for approval the list of firms-manufacturers of grid equipment that received negative critics of their equipment.
Now IDGC of North-West, JSC is completing working out of a new Standard of Technological Connection. This document will establish the general requirements in organisation of the process of technological connection to electric networks on the territory of the whole Northwest. Arthur Myaki, he Head of the Department of Perspective Development and Technological Connection, will present this standard at the SEC meeting.
In August 2006 Karelenergo workers installed two reclosers at 10 kV overhead lines.
Today there are twenty-seven reclosers in Karelia. Vladimir Chursin, Deputy Chief Engineer of Karelenergo, a branch of IDGC of North-West, will speak about peculiarities and advantages of this equipment in his report 'Technical and economic proof of the use of reclosers in Karelenergo 10 kV networks' .
Experts of Komienergo are paying special attention to reliability and safety of special transitions of 110 kV overhead lines across the Pechora river. At the meeting of the council Viktor Fink, Chief Engineer of Komienergo, will present variants of strengthening of supports at Izhma-Ust-Tsilma 110 kV overhead line.
IDGC of North-West, JSC Scientific and Technical Council was set up in 2006. It includes technical heads of IDGC of North-West. SEC is headed up by the Chief Engineer of IDGC of North-West. The meetings are held once a quarter.
