During the International Far Eastern Maritime Show, Zvezda Shipbuilding Complex and Uralmashplant signed a supply agreement for two overhead cranes with a lifting capacity of 320 tonnes each.
The document was inked by Managing Director of Zvezda Sergey Tseluyko and First Deputy of Chief Executive Officer of UZTM-KARTEX Managing Company, which operates Uralmashplant, Andrey Kuznetsov.
Under the agreement, Uralmashplant is to supply, assemble, install, and launch the cranes, as well as to train the workers.
The overhead cranes will be used to assemble three-dimensional sections and blocks of vessels’ forebody, engine space, and cargo space. The state-of-the-art cranes will provide for a significant increase in Zvezda’s production capacity and ensure its full production cycle.
As ordered by President of Russia Vladimir Putin and with contribution of Rosneft Oil Company, Zvezda Shipbuilding Complex will become a core of a unique shipbuilding cluster based on Far Eastern Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Center.

Zvezda Shipbuilding Complex located in Bolshoy Kamen, Primorsky Region, is being created on the base of Zvezda Far-Eastern Plant by a consortium of Rosneftegaz, Rosneft and Gazprombank. The shipbuilding complex design provides for the construction of a heavy outfitting berth, a dry dock, full-cycle production shops, and shops for the construction of offshore marine facilities.
Zvezda Shipyard will produce heavy tonnage ships, offshore platform elements, ice-class vessels, special vessels, and other marine equipment.
