The 14th International Exhibition of Communication Facilities and Telecommunications (Norwecom 2007) was ceremonially opened at 14:00, February 13. North-West Telecom OJSC is traditionally one of the largest exhibitors and sponsors  of the event.

The solemn opening ceremony at the stand of NWT was attended by:

- E. I. Makarov, Aide to the Plenipotentiary Representative of the RF President in the North-Western Federal District

- V. A. Akulich, General Manager, North-West Telecom OJSC

- A. V. Azarskov, Associate Chairman of the IT and Communications Committee of St. Petersburg

- M. M. Mikhailichenko, Chairman of the Information Policy and Telecommunications Committee of Leningrad Oblast

- I. P. Kirsanov, General Manager, Restec Exposition Association.

In his speech at the opening, NWT General Manager V. A. Akulich noted that Norwecom is well known both to the business community and to general public. It’s the place where they may always see advanced telecommunication technologies that enter every home and create new prospects for business growth. Today, North-West Telecom offers the telecommunications market new abilities, up-to-date technologies, and brand new services, among which is  Avangard TV.  The novelties that the guests can see at the exhibitions were a dream just yesterday, but they are becoming an affordable offer today.

In 2007, the Norwecom exhibition is arranged in the Lenexpo exhibition complex (Pavilion 7). North-West Telecom presents the following advanced telecommunication services at its stand:

• For corporate clients: AlliancePro services package with special offers and gifts for those connecting at the exhibition
• For individual clients: Broadband Internet of the Avangard brand and extra services such as Web Games, My Photos, My Files, and My Log
• For subscribers of NWT’s St. Petersburg subsidiary, Norwecom exhibition: Connection to the Avangard service at any tariff plan for 1 ruble, and a free ADSL modem with a 50% fee discount in the first month of use.

A focus event of the exhibition is presentation of Avangard TV, a new project for Avangard users. Every day, guests of the North-West Telecom display will be able to appreciate up-to-date digital TV and become users of this service.

Throughout the five days of the Norwecom 20076 exhibition, the Company’s area  will host contests and quizzes on telecommunications history and today’s technologies; NWT experts will answer guests’ questions and tell them of the services and new projects of North-West Telecom OJSC.
