On the eve of their professional holiday teachers from twelve schools of Berezniki received warm congratulations on their professional day from the regional legislature.
Twelve schools of the city of Berezniki are located in the electoral district where Uralkali employees are elected to the representative bodies. On the eve of the Teacher's Day the teachers from these schools received warm congratulations on their professional day from the regional legislature deputy and technical director of Uralkali Sergei Dyakov and a group of members of the City Council - managers of Uralkali: director of the 1st Potash Mining Group Vladimir Konovalov, deputy technical director for mining Alexander Shumakher, deputy director for economics and finance Alexei Chibisov.
As a present on the occasion of the professional holiday Uralkali arranged for the teachers of these schools a subscription to the educational periodicals, which, according to the teachers, the schools can hardly afford due to their meager budgets. The teachers, who for a long time have not had access to methodology literature, will be able to receive all the periodicals they need in their work.
Due to the lavish and expensive gift of Uralkali as of January next year the schools will be receiving such professional magazines, as "Zavuch" ("deputy principle for teaching"), "Director schkoly" ("school principle"), "Pervoye Sentyabrya" ("September 1st"), "Zdorovye detey" ("children's health"), as well as such newspapers as "Vestnik obrazovaniya Rossii" ("Russia' education herald"), "Uchitelskaya gazeta" ("Teachers' Gazette") and others.
"Uralkali paid for our subscription to the leading educational periodicals and supplements on all curriculum subjects. These materials represent methodological databanks for all the teachers in Russia," - says Principal of school #10 Mrs. Nadezhda Tumenko.
The teachers of school #10 received their congratulations from the Uralkali deputy technical director for mining Alexander Shumakher, who is representing the constituency where this school is located.
"My children have attended this school and now my granddaughter goes here," - says Alexander Shumakher. "I know many of the teachers by name and it was a great pleasure for me to greet them."
Alexei Chibisov, deputy director of Uralkali for economics and finance, gave his congratulations to the teachers of school #1.
"I have also gone to school in the city of Berezniki, only it was school #28," - says Alexei Chibisov, "and I'm very obliged to my teachers. They gave me a wonderful training, that later allowed me to go to a good college, get my degree and now work in the profession I like."
The gift to the teachers on their professional holiday is not the only assistance given by Uralkali to the local schools. The company has set up a special program of social partnership with the city and assistance to the schools of Berezniki is only part of that program. The management of the company understands that by creating normal conditions for the comprehensive education of the children they make their contribution to the future.
In the summer of 2003 Uralkali donated almost six million rubles to the refurbishment of 10 schools in Berezniki, that is almost seven times more than in 2002.
