The repair campaign is being finished at power grid facilities of Chuvashenergo, a branch of IDGC of Volga, PJSC (a member of Rosseti Group of Companies).This year, specialists of the branch repaired 395 km of 0.4–10 kV overhead transmission lines and 172.5 km of 35–110 kV overhead transmission lines.In particular, technicians replaced more than 1.8 thousand power transmission supports, 78.7 km of electrical wire and about 8 thousand insulators. In addition, the work included replacement of metal cross-arm beams, alignment of supports, etc. Besides, power engineers repaired 361 6–10/0.4 kV transformer substations and performed a capital overhaul for 19 110/35/6–10 kV substations.

During the repair campaign 2017, vegetation management activities and extension of transmission line corridors covered the area of 463.5 ha. For this, modern mulcher machinery was used at each Chuvashenergo's Production Department that considerably increases the speed of clearing process with complete slash disposal. This technology, with the wood pulp being mixed with the top soil, offers the most environmentally friendly solution. The entire cycle of cleaning, mulching and removal of wood chips can be done in a single step. Furthermore, power engineers use bulldozers for working on hard-to-pass, marshridden sites.

These works performed as part of the planned repair campaign are essential for safe and reliable operations during the autumn and winter seasons.
