As part of the state contract with the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, Mordovenergo, a branch of IDGC of Volga, PJSC (member of Rosseti Group), has within the shortest possible time (less than 8 months) constructed Drakino S 110/10 kV and over 22 km of the 110 kV overhead power lines.

A considerable amount of work has been performed in this period by the contractor Saratovelektrosetremont LLC together with the employees of the Mordovenergo Capital Construction Department. The works included land filling and planning of the construction territory (the SS territory fill has been made with the extra-strong gravel chippings), arrangement of access ways and in-site motor roads, installation of the switchyard (with SWYD of 110 kV) based on the metal works. Power transformers with the power capacity of 10 MW equipped with the film oil protection against moistening have been installed for the first time, and the operating DC voltage system manufactured by Convector CJSC was used.

All basic equipment has been placed in the modular building of the substation control house (SCH) combined with the indoor switch gear (ISG -10kV) made by Orbita. plant (Saransk)

The most up-to-date security and fire alarm system equipment, perimetral lighting systems and communication systems have been installed at Drakino SS. A new power transmission line over 22 km long has also been constructed in accordance with the state contract for technological connection. In the course of construction of this line, 135 towers were installed, over 69 km of wires and over 23 km of the overhead protection cable were mounted.

 At present, all works have been completed. An opinion of the State Building Supervision of the Republic of Mordovia, a commissioning permit issued by the Volzhsko-Oksky Directorate of Rostechnadzor for the Republic of Mordovia and by the Administration of Kovylkinsky municipal district of Mordovia where Drakino SS 110/10 kV is located, have been obtained.
