IDGC of Volga opened the first charging station for electric vehicles in the Ulyanovsk region

The branch of IDGC of Volga, PJSC (part of the Rosseti group) – Ulyanovsk Distribution Grids launched a charging station for electric vehicles in Dimitrovgrad. The first charging station in the region is located at Dimitrovgrad, 9th line street, 19V near the building of the Dimitrovgrad production department of Ulyanovsk Distribution Grids.

The installation was carried out as part of the All-Russian program for the development of charging infrastructure for electric vehicles, approved by ROSSETI, PJSC. The refueling station provides for the simultaneous charging of two cars, two parking spaces are arranged nearby, each of the ports for the charging cable is equipped with a light indication that allows you to control the charging process and the connector blocking system while charging the car. Socket type – Type 2 is suitable for most electric cars.

Charging is an alternating current of increased power, while the charging Mode 3 provides a safe charge, saving the battery life of an electric car as much as possible. Charging station power – 22 kW. The charging process may take about 4 hours. But experts assure that, depending on the technical characteristics of the electric vehicle, it is possible to charge the battery up to 70–80% in 30 minutes. Charging a car for electric cars owners is a free procedure. Drivers only need to receive a special RFID card by contacting the production and technical department of the Dimitrovgrad production department of the Ulyanovsk Distribution Grids branch. Next year, power suppliers plan to install a similar charging station in Ulyanovsk.

“The opening of the first charging station in our region is a step towards the development of electric transport and charging infrastructure. So far there are few electric cars in the region. However, we are working for the future, creating favorable operating conditions for both current owners of electric vehicles and potential owners of electric cars. Development of the network of charging stations will contribute to an increase in the number of environmentally friendly transport not only in the region, but also in the country,” said Sergey Frolov, Deputy Director General of IDGC of Volga, PJSC, Director of the Ulyanovsk Distribution Grids branch.
