June 28, 2019

Sergey Frolov, Director of Rosseti Volga Branch - Ulyanovsk Grids presented the project “Digital Transformation - 2030” to the Governor of the Ulyanovsk Region Sergey Morozov

A branch of Rosseti Volga - Ulyanovsk Grids (a member of IDGC of Volga, PJSC) held a meeting of the tripartite commission of the Ulyanovsk region to regulate social and labor relations chaired by the governor of the Ulyanovsk region Sergey Morozov.

Heads of relevant ministries, chairmen of trade unions, representatives of employers' associations, as well as the largest employers in the region discussed the main results of socially significant events aimed at improving the quality of life of the working population and developing the social responsibility of employers in the Ulyanovsk region.

As part of the enterprise visit program, the Governor was presented the concept of digitalization of the electric grid complex. Sergey Frolov, Director of the Ulyanovsk Grids branch, spoke about the plans of power engineers for technical re-equipment and modernization of the power grid economy using digital technologies and innovations.

- The concept of “Digital Transformation - 2030” provides for not only the introduction of advanced innovative equipment at power facilities, but also the creation of a single fully automated control system for power grid infrastructure. The project will increase the observability of the network, reduce the risk of technological failures and significantly reduce energy losses. Ultimately, this will ensure high quality of transmitted electricity, as well as the availability of services provided to consumers. It was the Ulyanovsk region that was chosen as a platform for creating a pilot zone of the digital area of electrical Grids based on the Ulyanovsk RES, - said Sergey Frolov.

In addition, the parties discussed the prospects for the development of charging infrastructure for electric vehicles in the region and the opening of the first charging station in the city of Ulyanovsk. On the territory of the region, the first charging station of the Ulyanovsk Grids was commissioned in 2018 in Dimitrovgrad.

“We are working for the future, creating favorable operating conditions for both current owners of electric vehicles and potential owners of electric cars now,” said the head of the branch of the power grid company.

Following the meeting, Governor Sergey Morozov thanked the power engineers for a responsible and conscientious approach to the development of not only the power grid infrastructure, but also the economy of the region as a whole, and also expressed confidence in further fruitful cooperation and effective cooperation on building a digital economy and creating conditions for innovative development.
