The annual repair campaign of "Rosseti Volga" branch (brand of PJSC "IDGC of Volga") - "Ulyanovsk Distribution Grids" is completed. Power engineers have completed all work on preparing electrical equipment for operation in the autumn-winter period and are beginning to summarize the first results of the year. This year, branch employees repaired 3,416 km of overhead transmission lines, 998 km of which are high-voltage 35-110 kV.

In the course of work, more than 1300 poles, 35 km of wires and 9237 exhaustive insulators were replaced. Alignment of the supports, replacement of metal traverses, line-isolating switches, numbering and permanent designations on OHL supports were restored.

The employees of the high-voltage line services replaced 14 km of the lightning protection cable, repaired the superstructures of metal supports' foundations, and installed vibration dampers on the wires. Corrosion-resistant coating is applied to the metal elements of the supports, hazard warning signs have been renewed.

Power engineers also performed the most labor-intensive repair operations on overhead transmission lines running in the city limits - along high-traffic routes and in areas with developed infrastructure: OHL 110 kV “Vostochnaya-1,2”, “Centralnaya-1,2”, “Ulyanovskaya-Kremenki”, “Severnaya-1,2”, “Ulyanovskaya-Yazykovo”, “Ulyanovskaya-Tsilna”, “Dimitrovgradskaya-1, 2" and others.

An important component of the repair program is the clearing of routes in the protection zones of overhead transmission lines from trees and shrubs. This year, employees of the branch cleared the territory with a total area of more than 550 hectares from tree and shrubby vegetation.

Successful passage of the upcoming period of maximum loads and reliable power supply to consumers in the Ulyanovsk region largely depend on the implementation of high-quality and timely repair of overhead transmission lines.
