Uralkali (Berezniki, Perm Territory) concluded a range of contracts for the supply of equipment for shaft winding machines with Mining Technology S.I.M. AG (Switzerland) for a total of around 54 million euro. In accordance with the contracts, five skip winding machines will be replaced in the Second Mine Division (BKRU-2) and the Fourth Mine Division (BKRU-4). The new skip winding machines will be produced by Siemag (Germany). The electrical drive system for them will be designed by Siemens (Germany). The new skip winding machines will increase the capacity of the skip charging system in the Second Mine Division (BKRU-2) from 22 to 25 tons of ore and in the Fourth Mine Division (BKRU-4) from 25 to 30 tons of ore.
Vladislav Baumgertner, CEO of Uralkali: Capacity upgrade and infrastructure investment are driven by rising demand for potash fertilizers and tight supplies. Uralkali is currently developing several projects in this field. In accordance with our program of updating the skip charging system, we are replacing equipment which has been in use for many years. These improvements should result in an increase of production in BKRU-2 from 7 to 11, 4 mln ton of ore and in BKRU-4 from 14 to 19,8 mln ton of ore.
