The former Sibneft Vice-President and General Director of Sibneft-Noyabrskneftegaz Mikhail Stavsky has been appointed Vice-President of Rosneft.
Mikhail Stavsky was born in 1961 in Ufa. In 1985 he graduated from the Ufa Oil Institute, majoring in Oil and Gas Field Machinery and Equipment. Following his graduation he worked for Sutorminskneft Oil and Gas Production, starting off as an operator and working his way up to head of an oil and gas production unit.
Between 1991 and 1998 Mikhail Stavsky worked for Muravlenkovskneft Oil and Gas Production, initially as Head of the Central Engineering Service and Chief Engineer, but from 1993 onwards as Head of Production. In 1995 he was elected as a Deputy for the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District Duma.
In 1997, he became a member of the Board of Directors of Noyabrskneftegaz. In 1998 he was appointed Chief Engineer and First Deputy General Director of Sibneft-Noyabrskneftegaz, and subsequently, in December 2000, General Director.
In March 2004 Mikhail Stavsky was transferred to Sibneft’s central office, where he held the post of Vice-President and Board member. In December 2004 he was again appointed Noyabrskneftegaz’s General Director.
